I'm currently using Serato SL, but am looking into buying a hardware serato (itch) controller, as i would like to travel/DJ as i travel...
having a hardware serato controller means i can DJ in venues that dont have turntables....
Ive been looking mainly at the Vestax VCI300 but have also seen the Allan & Heath and a few others,
does anyone use hardware controllers? If so, what do u think?
Cheers,
D

I used to DJ with vinyl (20 years) and when "laptop DJing" came along I was one of the first on board. However, the controllers were that rubbish (Hercules at the time) I used to just use the laptop with keyboard shortcuts. However I recently bought the VCI-300 / Serato Itch combination and it is excellent, plus along with a MacBook (and headphones) you can fit the lot easily in a backpack, and DJ in all kinds of venues. Check out http://www.digitaldjtips.com for more - and if you can afford it, go for it. You won't regret it.

Hey i have the vci-300... Its fucking sik. The catch is that its output is really high quality and not all software knows how to deal with it... If i hadnt bought it yet i would have bought the Vci-100 but its a special edition thats created with extra midi-controls so u can easily link with other software such as Traktor Pro.... http://techtools.myshopify.com/collections/midi-controllers/products/vci-100se Check it out son! if i was you.. that would be what i got.. the 300 has NO effects... LAME-- scout out some demo's on youtube n i'm sure you'll be impressed
