The anthem set to hail the return of Intec this year is “Damager” by Jon Rundell. Jon has been on the Techno scene for many a year now making waves as one of the most original and forward thinking producers around. Jon has been touring the world extensively for the past few years, becoming a regular at some of the most exciting clubs and events of the era. Fusing almost any kind of electronic music, Jon’s unique but diverse blend of sounds has won him many admirers globally.
Born in the South of England, Jon, like many was drawn to London where he spent his time buying imported US Hip-Hop. This obsession morphed over the years as slowly his understanding and love of Techno took over. While embracing this obsession Jon met and started working with Carl Cox who asked him to manage/ A&R his Intec label for him, as well as signing Jons ‘Dirty Disco EP’ for the label. Several years down the line after Intec closed its doors for a short break, Carl decided to bring back Intec for digital download sales only. It’s Damager that was the stand out track for the initial release, on the newly formed Intec Digital label. Jon recalls Carl saying to him “if any track was ever made for Intec, it’s this one”. This dance floor damager has been the corner stone of Carl and Jon’s set’s for the past year, the two’s secret weapon is certainly out of the bag now with Jon’s distinctive sound and energy flowing through it and hooking you in.
The release is accompanied by three remixes, one by label head Carl Cox, which takes Damager on a piano led deep house journey. Marco Bailey & Tom Hades remix brings it hurtling towards the current Techno sound of today and is sure to be a popular alternative to the original amongst many a DJ’s set. Elio Riso remix takes Damager to a whole different continent, adding a Latin flavoured vocal over the track and completely rebuilding the sound.
